After some discussions on IRC, it seems this is related to the following line: err:d3d:getColorBits Unsupported format: WINED3DFMT_R32F Attached full console output. Problem has only been seen so far on nVidia 86xx and 88xx cards. Changing to double buffering and MultiSample to 1 does not give any better result. 8600 gts, driver version 177.80 This application has encountered a critical error: ERROR #132 (0x85100084) Fatal Exception Program: Z:\home\adys\bin\World of Warcraft - enUS\wow.exe Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 0023:005CEF48 The instruction at "0x005CEF48" referenced memory at "0xFF0C5828". No sound, so it seems I have two bugs. attached config info and console.
