[Bug 32501] New: E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy crashes when the player dies (related to custom fonts used by the game)
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32501 Bug #: 32501 Summary: E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy crashes when the player dies (related to custom fonts used by the game) Product: Wine Version: 1.5.19 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: gyebro69(a)gmail.com Classification: Unclassified Created attachment 42877 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=42877 terminal output E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy is a FPS/RPG available on Steam. The game uses Valve's Source engine. A demo version is available on Steam but I can't test it as I own the full version. http://store.steampowered.com/app/91700/ Whenever the player dies the game crashes (without a usable backtrace). Workaround to the problem can be found in AppDB: you need to remove some of the .ttf files used by the game. They're eye.ttf, eye2.ttf, eye3.ttf, eye4.ttf. 'winetricks corefonts tahoma' doesn't help. I tested this bug with Wine 1.2.3, 1.4.1, 1.5.19. Please let me know if you need a debug log. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Whenever the player dies the game crashes (without a usable backtrace).
In some cases you can get a better backtrace from source engine games by passing "-nobreakpad" in the launch options. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

In some cases you can get a better backtrace from source engine games by passing "-nobreakpad" in the launch options. Thanks for the info. Launching the game with "-nobreakpad -nominidumps" options resulted the backtrace as can be seen in the attachment. Searching for similar issues in bugzilla I found bug #12044. On the other hand, the hack in bug #7698 (attachment #40034) when applied on 1.5.18, fixes the crash when the player dies in E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy.
