Some times the problems of 3d take my compiz too or stuck all my Linux. And i cant do anything more. I need power off my computer for use my Linux again. On version 1.1.32 - I didnt have problems. If it works without compiz, then it's a compiz bug, and thus an invalid bug in wine. Also, if the problem remains with compiz switched off, attach (DON'T PASTE) some terminal output, with the registry overrides switched off (since they don't seem to help at all). http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log And you say that it worked on 1.1.32, so that means it's a regression.
