I run into the very same issue with:
wine --version wine-5.0-rc2 (Staging)
Confirming then. I too get a crash, but also tried an old wine version i have lying around here (wine-4.0 (Staging)) and then i can get to a kind of loginwindow albeit without text (i guess i miss Japanese fonts(?), I only did winetricks arial) For now i'll mark this as a regression -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Yes, I too am able to reach the login window with 5.0-rc2 (Staging) after a few tries. Yesterday I got the crash again once I tried to login though. But it seems luck-dependent since I was able to successfully login today (apparently the program uses threads/services so that might explain non-deterministic behavior) What I did today on a clean 64-bit prefix: 1. Run setup (seems to work) 2. Greeted by what I assume to be the auto-updater (upper part of attachment) 3. Click orange/yellow button (green bar goes to the end) 4. Run DMMGamePlayer.exe 5. Greeted by the auto-updater again 6. Click orange/yellow button 7. Crash at the end 8. Run DMMGamePlayer.exe 9. Now I'm greeted by what I assume to be the terms and conditions 10. Accept and also click button on the next window 11. Now I'm at the login screen 12. Enter mail and password (for an account previously created on the website) 13. Actually was able to login (lower part of attachment) I don't see the text either, 'winetricks cjkfonts' doesn't seem to help (tested on a different prefix). -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Tried "hide_wine_version" in staging, didn`t help - For now i had a bit of success to get to loginwindow by disabling dgpservice: WINEDLLOVERRIDES=dgpservice.exe=d wine DMMGamePlayerSetup.exe @Fabian: do you have some more luck by running command above? - There seem to be very different versions/sha1sums of this app, so might be worth to archive a version somewhere. sha1sum DMMGamePlayerSetup.exe cbb926dd0ec13011154906a423d50491fdef4b93 DMMGamePlayerSetup.exe Got this from https://crossout.dmm.com/game/install, it`s yet again different from OP and from currentn app from the above downloadlink.. Since the game you linked is called "crossout", and the link is "/co/win", I assume this is an old version of DMMGamePlayer to work with that game. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47747 --- Comment #16 from Fabian Maurer <dark.shadow4(a)web.de> --- I retested with DMMGamePlayer-Setup-5.1.4. First it didn't work (just hangs, nothing happens). Then I compiled from source, and it worked. And afterwards, even with clean WINEPREFIX, it works even with normal wine. That's a mess. Then I get a "JavaScript error", EPIPE. I tried powershell from https://github.com/PowerShell/PowerShell/releases/tag/v6.0.0, but it didn't really help. We also have a 0374:fixme:netstat:wmain Unknown option: L"-r" And what currently probably breaks it is "[208:0526/064421.589:ERROR:gpu_process_host.cc(973)] GPU process launch failed: error_code=49" No idea why that is though. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47747 --- Comment #18 from Fabian Maurer <dark.shadow4(a)web.de> --- Update: CEF seems to work fine with latest git tree (wine-7.9-142-gf4543763053) Still doesn't start, there are 4 DMMGamePlayer processes, but no GUI visible. I hacked in stubs for the netstat / powershell fixmes, but no change can be observed. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47747 --- Comment #19 from Fabian Maurer <dark.shadow4(a)web.de> --- Sorry for the noise, it's the old font issue again - needs "winetricks corefonts". https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47747 --- Comment #20 from Fabian Maurer <dark.shadow4(a)web.de> --- Retesting with wine-8.21 (Staging) and the version from comment 15. I don't get a crash, only a few javascript errors and then a login window (with graphical glitches). After logging in I get "area not allowed". Did DMM change something to lock non-Japanese folks out? I can only download when I am in Japan, it doesn't work when I'm in Germany. But apart from region locks, the program seems to work nicely. Although when I start my game, it tells me that DirectX9 is not supported, which is weird. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
