I have an Nvidia 7800 GS with NVIDIA's 190 drivers on Karmic Ubuntu and the same thing happens. If the software rendering checkbox in the preferences is off, the Bridge window does not show properly, it is mostly black. Tried native gdiplus but it made no difference.
