This looks like a sound issue: i did 
rm -rf ~/.wine; install Emperor; run it ---> it crashes
Now change from OSS Full hardware acceleration to Oss Emulation ---> crash is gone
Alsa full and emulation prevent the crash as well.

Alexander, could you try to fiddle a bit with audiosettings and see if it
changes anything?
