http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18663 --- Comment #3 from Henri Verbeet <hverbeet(a)gmail.com> 2009-05-28 02:27:29 --- It will probably be a while before we're able to run this with d3d10. Most current d3d10 games have d3d9 renderers as well though, does disabling d3d10, d3d10core and dxgi help? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18663 --- Comment #4 from Tomasz Sałaciński <tsalacinski(a)gmail.com> 2009-06-03 14:08:57 --- This game doesn't seem to use DX10 at all. There is no option or anything to change the game to DX9, even config.cfg or any config file inside game's directory doesn't have any option to change used directx version. There is no such option in the registry too. The game itself does contain D3DX9_39.dll (this file is supplied by the game manufacturer, it's not downloaded by me). So it seems that it's able of using DirectX9, or it switches to DirectX 9 when it can't run DirectX 10 mode. It can't switch to DirectX 9 mode though. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Disabling d3d10, d3d10core and dxgi does get us a bit further. A pop-up box states: Cryostasis: Sleep of reason Shader model 4.0 is not supported by your system. The game will launch without advanced PhysX effects. Clicking on OK causes the game to crash. I'm using 1.1.43. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18663 GyB <gyebro69(a)gmail.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |gyebro69(a)gmail.com --- Comment #8 from GyB <gyebro69(a)gmail.com> 2012-03-25 05:18:15 CDT --- The demo still crashes with Wine-1.5.0 (Nvidia Physx was installed via winetricks). By default the demo tries to use Shader Model 4 (DX10) which results in a crash:
wine: Call from 0x7b839a92 to unimplemented function d3dx10_43.dll.D3DX10CreateEffectFromMemory, aborting wine: Unimplemented function d3dx10_43.dll.D3DX10CreateEffectFromMemory called at address 0x7b839a92 (thread 0009), starting debugger...
Changing SM to 3 (or 2) in config.cfg forces the demo to use DX9 which results in another crash as can be seen in comment #6. The relevant line in config.cfg (under video settings):
@r.shadermodel = 4
