From a fresh wineprefix and latest winetricks 1196, i've tried again to do a dotnet40 installation. But there is a lot of errors when i check it.

The appdb howto is: --- snip --- $ wget http://winetricks.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/src/winetricks $ bash winetricks dotnet40 corefonts --- snip --- This avoids distro 'winetricks' which tend to be outdated/broken. The appdb howto is the preferred way to install .NET Framework 4.0 Of course .NET Framework 4.0 _can_ be installed without 'winetricks' given a recent (non-regressed) Wine version. There are some technical implications that most people are not aware so it's always better for end users to use 'winetricks' which takes care of some prerequisites. --- quote --- Still got a lot of fixme and some errors, --- quote --- These are not bugs.
