It only shows a Microsoft logo (trial) or blank window (full version) and hangs. It gets "stuck" at the Microsoft logo screen for a few seconds (the same place Wine freezes), and then the application sort-of recovers and displays a (very buggy) error screen. This happens even in Win95 and Win98 compatibility modes. So there's still a bug someplace in Wine -- it should drop to the error screen -- but otherwise we seem to be behaving as mmdevapi-enabled Windows behaves. Well, this is interesting. The application actually fails on Windows Vista, too. It gets "stuck" at the Microsoft logo screen for a few seconds (the same place Wine freezes), and then the application sort-of recovers and displays a (very buggy) error screen. This happens even in Win95 and Win98 compatibility modes. So there's still a bug someplace in Wine -- it should drop to the error screen -- but otherwise we seem to be behaving as mmdevapi-enabled Windows behaves.
That's strange. I was able to install and run the trial version on Windows 7 without any tweaking or problems.
