[Bug 15041] New: Guild Wars: Typing into Char Fields
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15041 Summary: Guild Wars: Typing into Char Fields Product: Wine Version: 1.1.3 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: panos.laganakos(a)gmail.com The patching works fine, though, I am unable to type anything on the log in screen. I can select which char field has focus with the mouse, and the cursor blinks, but other than that typing results to nothing. One side effect I noticed, the last app that had focus before GW, was a pidgin window. So while I was presented with GW log in screen, the key strokes, where typed in the pidgin chat window. Weird. I tried downgrading to ubuntu hardy's, default wine version, but no luck there either. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

What window manager are you using? Are you using default / customized settings? Does the keyboard focus work better if Wine is using virtual desktops?
I'm using xfwm4 (XFCE 4 Window Manager). And you're right, I should've tried it first: When I am using a virtual desktop, the keyboard focus works fine. On a side note, the game works *way* too slow, I type now, and it appears after 5 secs+ It works fine on the same machine from windows xp. I hate logging in windows though :/ Any suggestions to enable any specific flags/settings for this app? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Weird.
I tried downgrading to ubuntu hardy's, default wine version, but no luck there either.
Ran into this same problem, I found that if I checked "Allow the window manager to control the windows" then I could type in the fields again. I'm using Fedora 10 Gnome. This doesn't occur on my Ubuntu Intrepid Gnome laptop. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

As it turns out, when I enable "Allow the window manager to control the windows", I can't minimize or switch between windowed and maximized. When I disable it, I can't even login. What to do now? This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.3.9 or newer) wine?
I have no problems entering login information anymore (version 1.3.8). As far as I'm concerned, this one's FIXED. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
