The multi line widget is broken. It worked with 0.9.58, but not under 0.9.59 any more. Try to use Notepad and enter some text and try to create a new line.
I found this on two machines (Ubuntu 7.10) with 0.9.59 - and it should happen on all programs depending on that widget.
