Issue does not effect Civ 4 nor its expansions, from the complete edition. And a game can be loaded once you are in another game, from the drop-down menu's 'load game', but not from the main menu. This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for over a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.51 or newer) wine?
Hadn't tested it in a while. Ubuntu 15.04 has wine 1.6.2 (or at least I have wine 1.6.2 and am on ubuntu 15.04), and the issue still occurs exactly how I had described it (cannot load game from newly launched session, or launch 'quick start'). Over the weekend I'll compile a new version of wine and test if I find the time (I don't have the game disc right now to install on an up-to-date Arch Linux install).
Around 1 year from this. It shouldnt be so hard to get precompiled wine by now. 1.8 or 1.9 series. Even late revision 1.7 series would be huge update on that wine version you had. Confirmed it's still happening, same as NSLW, it gets stuck on the loading bar 3/4 of the way. Also since I haven't seen this mentioned the game doesn't crash if I start a game, save, go to the main menu then load.
