[Bug 28060] New: Lemmix: mouse pointer problem during gameplay
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28060 Summary: Lemmix: mouse pointer problem during gameplay Product: Wine Version: 1.3.26 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: turbolad995(a)hotmail.co.uk Lemmings clone "Lemmix" problem with the mouse... Since Wine version 1.3.26 was installed with the Update Manager in Ubuntu, the mouse pointer in the game is now incorrect. It should normally be a "+"; if the mouse pointer is moved over one or more lemmings, it should then change into a "square". Now during gameplay the mouse pointer is a white "square" all the time, with a bit cut-out in the top-left. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

The game also "pauses" briefly, in Wine, when the lemmings are entering the home on every level. As that's a very minor problem, I'm wondering if creating another bug report for that would be a waste of time? Both of these problems have appeared in the past month with updates to Wine. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

The size of the mouse pointer in the game (arrowed) would appear in the top-left of the white opaque square. Please confirm this bug by testing this game with Wine version 1.3.26 - definitely a regression because this problem has only appeared since using Wine version 1.3.26 and it was fine in earlier versions of Wine. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I can confirm lemmix still work with wine-1.3.19 but the mouse cursor seem smaller than the lemmings with later version of wine
The most critical/annoying bug is the game hang after one level is finished
I'm not having the game hang on me after finishing one level, but at the moment I can only play the easiest levels because the mouse pointer problem is hampering the game. I'm assuming this mouse problem is a regression, hence me adding the "regression" keyword? There is a brief pause each time one of the lemmings has walked into the "home" and this never used to happen. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28060 David <turbolad995(a)hotmail.co.uk> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution| |FIXED --- Comment #7 from David <turbolad995(a)hotmail.co.uk> 2011-09-03 08:32:47 CDT --- Looks like this bug has been fixed now. The mouse pointer in Lemmix is working properly since Wine version 1.3.27 has been installed. @Raymond the problem with the game briefly pausing - each time one of the lemmings go into the home - needs a new bug report. This problem is really noticeable when the release rate is 99 and the lemmings are closest to each other. If no bug report has been created about this, I would like someone to do that - it's a very tricky bug to describe and needs an experienced person to explain it, such as your explanation of: err:seh:setup_exception_record stack overflow 916 bytes in thread 0009 eip 683b3b42 esp 00230f9c stack 0x230000-0x231000-0x330000 I'm not having any problems with the mouse in "Tricky" in the LemmixPlayer.exe game. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Refer to the lemming source, "YIPPEE.WAV" is a mono U8 10101Hz , duration is 0.45 second when this file loaded by audacity
but the program is using a different rate to play this sound
I've noticed a similar problem with the sound in 3D Pinball "Space Cadet" running in Wine - the quick "pauses" after certain sounds are heard. I don't know the technical stuff that goes on behind the scenes. I hope you or someone could create a new bug report about this sound issue. No point me trying to, as it's a tricky bug to describe and nobody will take it seriously, unless it were written with all the correct technical info. The mouse issue in the Lemmix games is fixed and working properly though. :) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
