For me in git, tells me that JDK isn't installed (I installed JDK v6u11). You can use the "OS independent ZIP" directly instead of the Windows specific EXE, just run "wine netbeans.exe" from the bin subdirectory. When the pipe buffer limit is reached, the write will block, causing the GUI to freeze (simplified, it's more complicated though, there are several threads in the VM which are "chained" through events).
