To reproduce, we can probably get a trial account at bugsplatsoftware.com, build their demo crasher app under Visual Studio, and run it under Wine; I bet it, too, will upload empty crash data. You can't build with Visual Studio Express; I've already tried. They've got a sample app you can download that simulates a crash. Running that, you then go to the website and see the samples. The two I ran with wine were empty.
