My only experiences in Wine are (a) to install Wine in the last stable Version 8.0.1 and (b) to install Guitar Pro 8.1.1 via PlayOnLinux with reference to Wine from system. As far as I have understood wine-9.0-RC3 is the development version with currently no binary available. So I don't know how to create the binary and a fresh wine prefix with it. The result is that the same error occurs with crossover as under Wine 8.0.1. I then uninstalled crossover again, and I am still looking for a solution with Wine. I guess you did a type mismatch. Guitar Pro 8.1.1 Build 17 is still the latest Version. Fun fact: today I tried again, and it worked. No crash. I did not change anything, no idea what is different than yesterday. Then I tried a fresh installation of ubuntu with wine+guitar pro. For the first time guitar pro crashed when clicking the desgin button. Then started again, clicked the design button again, and it worked. No crash. No idea what's going on, but now it is working.
