winex --debugmsg +wininet camelot/camelot.exe
Building font metrics. This may take some time...
bash-2.05b$ wine: Unhandled exception, starting debugger...
hangs there, does not go to update server screen.

thats with winex.

with wine it doesn't give any error output, but goes to the error 201 cannot 
connect to update server.
