[Bug 16658] New: Scratchiness of sound in aimp 2.5 and other audio players
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16658 Summary: Scratchiness of sound in aimp 2.5 and other audio players Product: Wine Version: 1.1.11 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: yast4ik(a)yahoo.com Scratchiness appears when I play any audio file type. The output is following: fixme:dsalsa:IDsDriverBufferImpl_SetVolumePan (0x14e6c0,0x162f88): stub err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {bcde0395-e52f-467c-8e3d-c4579291692e} not registered err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object {bcde0395-e52f-467c-8e3d-c4579291692e} could be created for context 0x1 fixme:keyboard:UnregisterHotKey (0x30058,2): stub fixme:font:ExtTextOutW flags ETO_NUMERICSLOCAL | ETO_NUMERICSLATIN | ETO_PDY unimplemented fixme:dsound:DllCanUnloadNow (void): stub And to my view almost any audio players under WINE give bad result excluding Audacity 1.3. The sound in Audacity is OK (but it's audio editor, not player). This output you can partly see at http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.wine.user/34775 (2 Nov 11:40 essention) This bug makes WINE almost useless for audio playing and I appreciate your fix of it. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

There are already 3-4 bugs open for this problem. What distro? What audio driver? Xubuntu 8.10; alsa audio driver; only default pulseaudio - libpulse0 package As I can remember the same problem existed in elder versions of wine. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16658 --- Comment #3 from Ilya <yast4ik(a)yahoo.com> 2009-01-05 15:10:38 --- This sound problem disappears when Hardware Acceleration in wine set up to Emulation, but setting HA up to Full brings bad sound. So it is necessary to fix only audio hardware acceleration function. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Is this still an issue in current (1.1.25 or newer) wine?
The bug didn't disappear When hardware acceleration is used the following line appears: fixme:dsalsa:IDsDriverBufferImpl_SetVolumePan (0x1620b8,0x162040): stub So it's necessary to implement the feature completely to close the bug. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
