The crashing process on start is the installer for the very common Macromedia 
license manager FLEXnet. This scheme is also supposed to be used for recent 
Adobe apps (Acrobat 7, Photoshop CS2).  
 
Fixing this would really help, as FLEXnet is used by a lot of applications 
these days. In case you don't know, FLEXnet is the successor to Globetrotters 
FlexLM (which works perfectly with Wine, BTW).
