[Bug 52056] New: TrackMania 2020: Crash on or soon after launch
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52056 Bug ID: 52056 Summary: TrackMania 2020: Crash on or soon after launch Product: Wine Version: 6.21 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: jonwsb(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- Created attachment 71066 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=71066 wine-staging 6.21 trackmania 2020 terminal output It seems any version of wine-staging newer than 5.22 now causes TrackMania 2020 to crash at the main menu or earlier. wine-staging 5.22 allows the game to work normally as far as I tested. The game is available freely from "https://ubisoftconnect.com/" but an account is needed. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. That would be the quickest way I guess to track down where the bug is. (note from your log: 04f4:err:module:open_builtin_so_file failed to load .so lib "/usr/lib32/wine/i386-unix/d3d12.dll.so" I haven`t got any clue, but could that be related to this crash?) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Zeb, one has to install the Ubisoft Connector (link top right of https://ubisoftconnect.com/), run it, then install the game from in that. I find I can progress to the main menu just fine, but somewhere between wine-6.10 + staging and wine-6.11 + staging there's a regression which causes it to crash when selecting Training, then '1'. I was about to start bisecting this but noticed your patch to fix bug #52390 (https://source.winehq.org/patches/data/223359) which also fixes my issue and allows me to proceed to start training. It's not clear though whether this is the original bug. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. That's what I did, but I couldn't find anywhere to install the game. I could install games that I owned, or a few games labeled as free, but despite the website labeling Trackmania as free it wasn't listed among the other free games. Only Trackmania Turbo was available.

Comment 0 implies it's present in 6.0, and bug 52390 shouldn't be present before 6.11. To the original reporter, can you reproduce this bug with 6.10 or earlier? If so, can you please attach terminal output from that case? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Here are some links that may help you: https://www.ubisoft.com/en-gb/help/purchases-and-rewards/article/game-not-ap... https://www.ubisoft.com/en-gb/help/connectivity-and-performance/article/empt... The game shows up in the free games section for me (the red highlight in the attachment picture is from me). My experience with wine-staging 6.23 is similar to comment 5: - No crash in menu; - Crash in a DXGI-related hook when starting circuit #1 in training mode. Did OP test in a new wineprefix? https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52056 --- Comment #8 from Olivier F. R. Dierick <o.dierick(a)piezo-forte.be> --- Hello, The result above was obtained on the first run after installation. Now, I get a 'Corrupted Installation. Please verify files integrity or reinstall the game.' error dialog and an app crash in wined3d, every time I launch the game. Ubisoft Connect doesn't report any problem when verifying the files, but the crash and file corruption dialog still happen on subsequent game launches. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52056 Zeb Figura <z.figura12(a)gmail.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |ABANDONED --- Comment #10 from Zeb Figura <z.figura12(a)gmail.com> --- I took a look at this. I can reproduce a crash in 5.22, 6.0, and 6.10, which is fixed by f266c87bc948c7b44b4196a31a2cff627a8ea970 (part of 6.21). Backporting that patch, I can't reproduce a crash in any of those versions (except for bug 52390 which isn't a regression either). I don't know why 5.22 *worked* for the reporter. Even if there was some other bug specific to their setup (plausible, given they were using NVidia binary drivers and I was not), that should still have resulted in a crash. Possibly the game itself changed. Also possibly they were inadvertently using DXVK or something. They mentioned wine-staging, but I am confident there was nothing in wine-staging at that time that would have avoided that bug. I can't explain the regression, but on the other hand, a request for retesting has gone without response, and I'm unable to reproduce a regression either, so I'm going to call this ABANDONED. Please reopen if a regression matching the initial symptoms can be reproduced. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
