No hang for me in 1.3.36 with "winetricks mfc42". I get a lot of fixme:msvcrt:MSVCRT__sopen_s : pmode 0x5f401944 ignored fixme:msvcrt:MSVCRT__sopen_s : pmode 0x0380 ignored messages, though.
