http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35427 --- Comment #5 from Leon Baradat <lordpeyre(a)yahoo.com> --- Ok, I upgraded from 1.6.1 to 1.7.1. Now the game crashes immediately upon opening. Ditto after a reboot. Yes, I used to run this on my old Windows 2000 machine, and it didn't crash like this. Certainly you could play an entire game without it crashing. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Yes, I used to run this on my old Windows 2000 machine, and it didn't crash like this. Certainly you could play an entire game without it crashing.
Could you please install debug symbols? It looks like it's crashing in wined3d instead of the game code now. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35427 --- Comment #10 from Leon Baradat <lordpeyre(a)yahoo.com> --- Ok, I upgraded Wine to 1.7.24 (enough that it seems to run other programs anyway), but when I try to run Diplomacy, the screen goes blank--then when I hit a key it dumps me to the Desktop, with the resolution shrunk down to 800x600--even if I told it to open Diplomacy.exe in a window. If I run the program from a command prompt I get this: ~/.wine/drive_c/Games/Diplomacy$ env WINEPREFIX="/home/leon/.wine" wine C:\\windows\\command\\start.exe /Unix https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35427 --- Comment #11 from hanska2(a)luukku.com --- I assume this is the same game. https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=29722 Only 1 reported test report. Hard to tell how it works with newer wine. You may want to try other compatibility mode, 95,98 or me. at least in kde alt+f2 brings a menu where you can type commands...xrandr -s 1920x1080 would set the video mode 1920x1080. You can also have console open and type that or similar line into console if you have issues restoring video mode. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
