It works *almost* perfectly but because of this bug it isn't actually usable: most of its WAV files do not work and this makes the program useless! As I have said FL Studio make use of WAV files. Some WAV files are in standard PCM uncompressed audio format and they plays fine. Others use non-standard WAV format and fails to play at all. Because of that a lot of effects and sounds cannot be used. If I run the program with WINEDEBUG=+loaddll,warn+all I get the following output when I try to play a "non-standard" WAV file: (see attachment). When I play standard PCM-encoded WAV file there is no such output. I think this output gives some useful clues but unfortunately I have almost no knowledge about Widnows sound API so I cannot fix this myself. Feel free to ask any additional questions. The program has a demo and it is almost fully functional (see the URL field). How to reproduce (instruction by Travis Forghani, with minor changes and comments for better readability): 1) Click on "Packs" to expand it. Then click on "Basses" to expand it. Next, click on the "BASS_EfEm_C2"; when you click on the BASS_EfEm_C2 effect, the sound that is supposed to be created is created. This works because "BASS_EfEm_C2" is standard PCM encoded WAV file. 2) Click on "RealDrumkits" to expand it. Next, click on "RD_Crash". When you click on the "RD_Crash" effect, the sound that is supposed to be created is not created and there is no output via the speakers. This doesn't work because "RD_Crash" is non-standard WAV. You have to do this manually. To test for the problem drag/drop audio sample DNC_Snare from the FL browser located at Packs->Legacy->Dance->DNC_Snare, which will load a blank waveform due to the bug. In some versions prior to 1.3.18 (unfortunately, I can say exactly in which ones) it could be corrected by installing K-Lite Codec Pack, but now it doesn't solve the problem. Only manual addition of the
MSACM.vorbis=vorbis.acm string to system.ini does.

I think these codecs get registered in the registry somewhere, and so us adding it to the .ini is a workaround and not even the way the FL Studio installer registers the codec. This is absolutely an installer bug. This is absolutely an installer bug. I do remember trying FL Studio on a fresh Windows install (just copied files, not running the FL installer), and the same codec problem appeared as we have here in Wine.

I just installed the demo of FL Studio 10, running wine-1.3.27. It runs just fine out of the box. The demo track it includes plays through smoothly and nothing seems broken with it.
Seems fixed to me.
The tracks play smoothly and seem like nothing is broken, I don't have access to a linux system at the moment so I can't retest, but the difference between the codec being registered correctly and not is that certain .ogg based samples in demo tracks which use them aren't played, but the rest of the music is. They sound completely identical, with no elements missing from the song. Also, I opened up regedit in wine and found the vorbis driver registered at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32. And for extra insurance, I started a new project in FL (in wine), and inserted an audio clip instrument that plays back an ogg-encoded track stored on my computer. It played the track through just fine.
