On a current gentoo linux system running wine 0.9.27, installation of 
Microsoft Office 2000 Professional fails, the windows error message stating:

"Installation ended prematurely because of an error."

The wine console output ends with:  
err:msi:ACTION_InstallFiles compressed file wasn't extracted (L"c:
\\windows\\system32\\MSCOMCTL.OCX")
