They repeat at random intervals, every ~0.5 seconds. Not a regression, I have tested on wine-1.3.7+. Arch Linux x64. This happens when in the Audio options menu the 3D audio driver is selected and the option <System driver> is set to 'yes'. Either using <Safe mode> instead of 3D, or setting <System driver> to 'no' makes those clicks go away. There were quite a few changes in the audio subsystem since 1.7.34. I can't hear the popping sounds since 1.7.34, but maybe I'm just hitting bug #37957.
