[Bug 47403] New: ALT+TAB results in a sticky ALT in the application when switching back
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47403 Bug ID: 47403 Summary: ALT+TAB results in a sticky ALT in the application when switching back Product: Wine Version: 4.10 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: dominik(a)kuropka.net Distribution: --- I noticed the following issue when playing EVE Online: If you use the ALT+TAB key to switch from EVE Online to another application and then return back to EVE Online, then the EVE Online is still thinking you are still holding down the ALT key. This is only resolved by pressing and releasing the ALT key again. It's really annoying. Hypothesis: When pressing ALT+TAB (which at least for me usually happens in the order 1. hold ALT down and then 2. press TAB) the ALT-key-down command is transferred to the application (EVE Online) and then the focus is changed to another application, without sending prior the ALT-key-down command. In my opinion this should be changed. If ALT+TAB is used to switch the application, the ALT-key-down command should be generated prior switching. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47403 --- Comment #1 from dominik(a)kuropka.net --- Stupid me, please replace the last two "ALT-key-down command" in my comment above with "ALT-key-up command". Sorry for the confusion. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47403 --- Comment #2 from Alistair Leslie-Hughes <leslie_alistair(a)hotmail.com> --- There was some changes in wine 4.11 which might address this issue, can you please test in the new version. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47403 --- Comment #3 from dominik(a)kuropka.net --- I tested it with wine 4.11 and it is partially fixed. If you use ALT+TAB to switch from EVE to another application and then use ALT+TAB again to switch back to EVE, then everything works as expected. However, if you switch back to EVE by using the mouse pointer (click into EVE window) then you have to fight with the sticky "ALT" key as described above. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
