Starfighter.exe md5sum: 1c98ed8eb9679aa8cb9af838c6b547bf Installation went without issues here on Fedora 17 (32 bit). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30887 --- Comment #3 from David <dav75uk(a)yahoo.co.uk> 2012-06-10 11:16:05 CDT --- No doesn't work with a clean wineprefix either. Could it be a 64 bit vs 32 bit wine issue? Installs fine on Windows. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Maybe. I get quite a different terminal output here on 32 bit. Can you have a look at bug #24611? Your log and the first one in #24611 look similar. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30887 --- Comment #5 from David <dav75uk(a)yahoo.co.uk> 2012-06-10 11:44:51 CDT --- It does look very similar, if not the same issue. Is there a workaround? I couldn't follow the registry editing discussion in the thread. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30887 --- Comment #6 from Béla Gyebrószki <gyebro69(a)gmail.com> --- David, please retest with current Wine (1.7.18), bug #24611 has been already fixed. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Next time please report bugs with a clean (new!) WINEPREFIX. Having other (broken) apps already installed in the same prefix makes the bug report potentially invalid. --- snip --- fixme:service:scmdatabase_autostart_services Auto-start service L"NvcSvcMgr" failed to start: 2 --- snip --- This is something from Nortel/Avaya VPN client and has nothing to do with the actual game installer. With a clean 64-bit prefix it would have been a dupe of bug #24611 (installer itself is 32 bits but the out-of-process COM server runs as 64 bit process and they talk to each other using standard marshaller) --- snip --- Wine-dbg>info process pid threads executable (all id:s are in hex) 00000042 6 'Starfighter.exe' 00000025 7 \_ 'ISBEW64.exe' 00000031 9 \_ 'rpcss.exe' 00000044 1 \_ 'explorer.exe' 0000000e 7 'services.exe' 00000019 3 \_ 'plugplay.exe' 00000012 4 \_ 'winedevice.exe' --- snip --- $ sha1sum Starfighter.exe 5bbcbceeaf6fe0701de3cb909f1fad031db81f0f Starfighter.exe $ du -sh Starfighter.exe 22M Starfighter.exe $ wine --version wine-1.7.18-10-ge5d69df Regards *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 24611 *** -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
