[Bug 11327] New: Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9.0 Pref launcher no longer works
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11327 Summary: Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9.0 Pref launcher no longer works Product: WineHQ Apps Database Version: unspecified Platform: PC URL: http://www.nuance.com OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: appdb-unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: susancragin(a)earthlink.net I am using Ubuntu's Hardy Heron Studio version. My computer is an Acer Ferrari 64-bit running 32-bit libs. wine-0.9.53-289-g71f81bf The program still installs correctly and trains, but I can't get it to run because the launcher no longer loads properly. I thought it was a Ubuntu metacity problem but have tried icewm. Have also installed Skype for Linux, and that program icon appears correctly when the program is running. I think the error message is as follows. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11327 --- Comment #4 from Susan Cragin <susancragin(a)earthlink.net> 2008-01-25 14:57:05 --- My regression testing worked well up to a point. I found many instances where the git worked, and many where it did not, and applied "bisect good" and "bisect bad" as appropriate. Finally it narrowed down to what you see above, but the command: git bisect visualize did not seem to work. I have left my git the way it was until I hear if there is anything more I can do with it. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11327 --- Comment #6 from Susan Cragin <susancragin(a)earthlink.net> 2008-02-03 07:55:42 --- Please close this bug. The bug only happened in specific situations, including certain pre-0.9.54 versions of WINE plus the Ubuntu Hardy Studio 2.6.24-4-rt kernel. Later WINE versions work on all versions of the kernel. Also, this particular kernel was problem-plagued for lots of reasons, and was soon replaced by 2.6.24-5-rt. This kernel runs WINE with DNS 9.0 very well, although it sometimes freezes.
