I've tested a couple of Python programming books (obviously not Chinese Editions) from my own ebooks collection and couldn't reproduce the missing pictures issue. I tried wine-5.8, this bug still EXIST, Not fix.
I can see a code displaying issue with the book, but I don't think they are pictures. They are in a <code></code> tag in fact. Probably it is a font issue.
