[Bug 13946] New: Fullscreen mode resizes desktop windows (KDE)
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13946 Summary: Fullscreen mode resizes desktop windows (KDE) Product: Wine Version: 1.0-rc4 Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: trick(a)icculus.org Any program going fullscreen in Wine resizes any windows on the desktop that are larger than the new resolution. When you exit wine/fullscreen, the previously larger windows have been maximized, and restoring them does not restore their original size (they're smaller). I'm using KDE 3.5.9, but I don't have this problem with any native programs (anything using SDL, etc), so I don't think it's just a KDE issue. Still present in 1.0-rc5, but the version box only goes to 1.0-rc4. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Try using "xrandr" command to change resolution to the smaller one. Then restore it with 'xrandr -s 0'. If you have the same effects - them Wine has nothing to do with this. Keep in wind that most native Linux games using XVidmode instead. You can configure Wine to do the same - see http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Is there any reason why XVidMode isn't the default, though? I noticed that SDL does have XRandR support, but it's not used by default because of exactly this kind of problem. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
