There was a commit (see http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31882#c59) to fix a problem in wine (but it was after 1.5.16). Could you try wine 1.5.17 or newer? What's your version of libxcb? I think f16 ships only 1.7... could you try version 1.9?
