For the info, firefox starts and works perfectly fine out of the box when using Staging + Fabian`s patch from https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=64059&action=diff applied on top of that
tested Version 65.0.2. 64 bit. Maybe this also helps for the version of this bugreport firefox 51.0.1, needs testing.

This works fine for me now in current git; tested version firefox-79.0 Preferences is accessible and loading webpages works without any work-arounds.
