Most of the software (eg. PhysX) is outdated anyway. Unless a dev disagrees with what I do, I suggest that you try this to install the game. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I don't think that you can remove the prerequisites folder in this game or it will likely fail...installer will try to install them anyway... I managed to install this game in WINE 1.4.1 but installer fails in WINE 1.5.14 Check my posts in bugs: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20713 http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24197 -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Xavier, You are doing it wrong...

I managed to install this game in WINE 1.4.1 but installer fails in WINE 1.5.14
Check my posts in bugs:
From my experience, most installers will display an error message when that happens but the install will continue anyways. Very few installers actually exited upon an error of not finding a DirectX or VC redist setup. This is relevant in the case of testing if the built-in extensions of wine can run the game, but for the plain user experience, this is irrelevant to them.
I now have the GOTY version of Borderlands, I will test it again soon. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
