[Bug 5387] Regression: Second Life no longer starts with Wine 0.9.15

Ok, so the general concensus is that 0.9.18 fixes this problem, although it doesn't Work For Me (tm).  Can someone more experienced please advise on how I can narrow the problem down in my situation, and possibly shed light on the underlying issue?
