I just upgraded to nvidia card (had ATI previously) and this is an issue for me. HAlf-Life 1 runs great. I can see the menus, and in Half-Life 2 Episode 1, I can see the title text in the introduction, but everything else is black. In Half Life 2, when G-Man is talking, the screen is black except that it flashes brightly when the introduction scene is briefly in the testing chamber. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I mean, one should not only post relevant WINEDEBUG logs, but also a model of his/her GPU and a driver used to run this GPU. I suspect this bug to only affect people having older/mobile GPUs which are not capable enough to fulfill the game+wined3d emulation requirements. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Your suspect is wrong : I have wine 1.6_rc5 with recent nvidia drivers (325.08), recent nvidia card (Geforce GT630), recent xorg-server (1.13.4) and recent kernel (3.8.10) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Yep, it seems that I'm wrong with my suspects. I can't find any WINEDEBUG logs posted by you in this bug report. Could you please perform tests and capture logs as per instructions posted in the Wine wiki? It also is worth testing if using older Wine release would workaround this bug. If latter is the case - it might be possible to perform a regression testing and find the exact commit causing the problem. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I am not the bug reporter, I thought there were already some logs. What debug option should I provide ? d3d ? all ? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Usually you should enable reporting of all errors (i.e. WINEDEBUG="-all,err+all") then analyze captured logs and then enable reporting warnings and fixme's for relevant channels. Is this case most probable channels to look at are: d3d, d3d_shader, d3d_surface, d3d_texture, d3d9 and wine_d3d. But I might be wrong on this as I'm not a Wine developer. You might want post logs for channels posted above and wait for Henri or Stefan to show up and request more info in case they would need some. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15124 --- Comment #18 from Henri Verbeet <hverbeet(a)gmail.com> 2013-07-22 01:50:16 CDT --- This bug looks generic enough that there could very well be different issues for different people, including setup issue like e.g. missing or broken 32-bit drivers. The only logs are from 2008 and 2010, at this point just posting plain terminal output with Wine 1.6 would already be an improvement. As an aside, there's no wine_d3d debug channel. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

In case this one is still valid and someone would hit it with recent Wine version he or she could easily reopen this one or report a new one if appropriate. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
