Behind that window an error message hides, telling "Failed to create empty document". The only choice is to click OK. Then the program quits. Had to set the Windows version to "Windows 7". Else the setup complains about not running on older Windows versions. Setup finished without problems. But at the end it offered to start MAXQDA, instead it crashed. See attached STDOUT/STDERR output and backtrace. After the installation I was able to normally start the installed program. If running in virtual desktop mode, the program froze after the it started and didn't do anything. Nevertheless when closing the virtual desktop it didn't reported something like "program not responding". Without a virtual desktop the program seems to work normal. But, although it's an evaluation version, it asked me for a license key. It currently freezes when creating new/opening existing project. Refining the summary to make this bug still somewhat useful. From a quick glance it could be user32 related, maybe revisit later.
