Before this update wine launched konqueror with no problems. I'm using Fedora Core 6 with kernel 2.6.19-1.2911.6.5.fc6. I run 'wineprefixcreate' but nothing happened. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11189 --- Comment #5 from vaku42(a)yahoo.com 2008-02-26 10:44:22 --- Sorry about that. It has been a while since I remembered I filed this one. When I ran wineprefixcreate, it gave an error "Could not load Mozilla. HTML rendering will be disabled." So I guess that's the root of the problem. Odd. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Sorry about that. It has been a while since I remembered I filed this one.
When I ran wineprefixcreate, it gave an error "Could not load Mozilla. HTML rendering will be disabled." So I guess that's the root of the problem. Odd.
If you think that is the problem, try: $ wine iexplore.exe http://www.winehq.org/ ---Install wine gecko---- $ wine yourapp.exe And see if it works. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11189 --- Comment #7 from vaku42(a)yahoo.com 2008-03-01 12:18:33 --- OK. It installed wine gecko. Now Scifinder gives an error message 'cannot open <URL> success'. On the terminal the same error message is given as before (usage: winebrowser URL). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11189 --- Comment #8 from Lei Zhang <thestig(a)google.com> 2008-03-01 15:09:41 --- Not sure where the problem is exactly, but it's either something in execute_from_key() in shell32, some dde issue, or a bug in winebrowser. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11189 --- Comment #9 from vaku42(a)yahoo.com 2008-05-29 00:04:43 --- Excellent. I tried to see if I can replicate the problem... So it seems that a distro upgrade causes the mozilla connection to break. The computer was running SciFinder 2006 in Ubuntu 7.04 before, and the program worked flawlessly. I upgraded to 2007 first (but never really used it for a while) and then upgraded to Ubuntu 7.10. I guess this was when it first broke. I keep updating wine and couldn't get it to work. Now the computer is running Ubuntu 8.04 and the mozilla link still doesn't work correctly. ... And why do I think it's the distro upgrade rather than the program itself? Because I installed SciFinder Scholar 2007 and wine on another system running Fedora 8. It worked flawlessly. And then I decided to upgrade (not reinstall) to Fedora 9. It broke. Interesting. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

The computer in which I had the problem has been retired, unfortunately. :(
I'll mark the bug abandoned then.
