[Bug 23557] New: wine versions 1.1.x not listed
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23557 Summary: wine versions 1.1.x not listed Product: WineHQ Apps Database Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: appdb-unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: jarekczek(a)poczta.onet.pl If I try to submit an app, a version or a test for appdb, I have to choose wine version. I see 1.0.0, 1.0.1 and 1.2.rcx. I test the app on 1.1.42 and I know that the silver rank is not achievable under wine 1.0.1. I have no possibility to install wine 1.2. Something must be changed. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23557 --- Comment #1 from Jeff Zaroyko <jeffz(a)jeffz.name> 2010-07-08 05:39:51 --- why can't you install one of the previous 6 versions of Wine? Packages are usually up to date for popular/recent distros. If you have trouble compiling help is at hand via the forum @ http://forum.winehq.org Of these 6 most recent versions listed, the oldest was released two and a half months ago. The reason for not having more than the 6 most recent is that Wine is released so frequently with many fixes, people are most often interested in the latest behavior. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

IMHO we should increase that number significantly. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

AppDB lists only last 6 beta versions and release versions. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23557 --- Comment #5 from Dan Kegel <dank(a)kegel.com> 2010-07-08 12:30:32 --- Yes, I know it's by design, but it's still broken. I would reopen this but I don't want to get into a pissing match. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23557 --- Comment #6 from Jarek <jarekczek(a)poczta.onet.pl> 2010-07-08 15:34:31 --- I use the freshest binary which is 1.1.42 for Debian. I don't feel like compiling. Is it an alternative: compile or stop testing and stop feeding appdb? Why should all the people waste time for compiling? Let a few compile and the rest use binaries. Let's be effective. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Those changes where made for a reason. If you do not have a fresh binary version for your distro it's your distro packager's problem. Here we assume you compile Wine from source before reporting any problems. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

File bug with Debian for not providing fresh Wine packages. Or compile Wine from source. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
