Got the same error with package version 20050725(*) binary and source RPM and   
20050628 binary RPM distribution for SuSE Linux 9.3 on AMD  
  
The only messages i got were
> export WINEDEBUG=warn+all 
> wine 
> wine: creating configuration directory '/home/nothere/.wine'...  
> warn:heap:HEAP_CreateSubHeap Could not allocate 00110000 bytes  
> wine: failed to create the process heap  
> wine: wineprefixcreate failed while creating '/home/nothere/.wine'.
> wineserver -f -d10 
> sock_init: shutdown() causes EOF 
> Speicherzugriffsfehler (German word for segfault)

Installed RPMs via yast2 -i 
 
(*) Did not get the errors when installing at work SuSE 9.1 RPM packages on 
Intel P4 (afaik)
