It turns out the crash does not occur in vanilla Wine as long as you run `wineboot --init && wineserver -w` before `wine FACEITInstaller_64.exe`. It's a dupe of bug 41713 ("Initial 'explorer' process fails to register/run ShellWindows class local COM server in new WINEPREFIX due to incomplete registry data"). The part that fails is the FACEIT Desktop client (sub)installer which is bundled with the FACEIT Anti-Cheat installer.
