In fact, I installed both MM6 and MM7 from GOG.com and the games are fully playable despite of the installer errors. There must be something else that causing your problem. Please attach terminal output when you are trying to start the game. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Unless you suspect there's some consistent issue with my setup, but then I can't _imagine_ what that could be. Thirdly, I have gotten this on both of those games, consistently, for all said platforms. Maybe I'm just terminally unlucky, but this doesn't look like an issue that's just specific to my current install. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Either enter the game directory first and launch the game from there: WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX=/home/koz/.gog/mm6 wine MM6.exe or if you prefer starting the game from elsewhere: WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX=/home/koz/.gog/mm6 wine start /unix ~/.gog/mm6/drive_c/GOG\ Games/Might\ and\ Magic\ 6/MM6.exe -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Ah, so I have to use absolute paths, or be in the same directory as the executable? I didn't know that - thank you for clarifying! I can confirm that this works.
Yes, you usually have to "cd" into the game directory, it's a pretty common pitfall. For reference, it's mentioned at https://wiki.winehq.org/Wine_User%27s_Guide#How_to_run_Windows_programs_from... which is also linked from the FAQ. Glad that helped, resolving the bug. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
