[Bug 38041] New: GTAVC abruptly switches sound from left speaker to right when steering a car
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38041 Bug ID: 38041 Summary: GTAVC abruptly switches sound from left speaker to right when steering a car Product: Wine Version: 1.7.34 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-dsound Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: b7.10110111(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- After wine upgrade I've noticed that when I e.g. drive a car and steer it right, the sound from its engine abruptly switches to the right speaker, and steering left switches the sound to left speaker. I'm not sure whether the full sound is gone in such cases, but the switch is easily audible. This sounds quite unpleasant and wasn't there with previous wine versions. Bisecting gives me this commit: 02f9edfd77302eabc0a8a6e45a9423ebe2b1acef is the first bad commit commit 02f9edfd77302eabc0a8a6e45a9423ebe2b1acef Author: Mark Harmstone <hellas(a)burntcomma.com> Date: Tue Jan 6 19:27:00 2015 +0000 dsound: Do not use panning to set sound position. :040000 040000 03150d0f8efa7cbd91b17fdb40c6a1f96ff75ca1 7b1eb0070dcc0d92b3bb216a12727407f891fe28 M dlls -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38041 --- Comment #1 from Bruno Jesus <00cpxxx(a)gmail.com> --- You should try 1.7.36, there were a few fixes related to sound made by the same author. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38041 --- Comment #2 from Ruslan Kabatsayev <b7.10110111(a)gmail.com> --- Surely I've come across this bug with 1.7.36. I've selected 1.7.34 in version field only because it's the first release where the bug appears (according to bisection results). -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38041 --- Comment #3 from hellas(a)burntcomma.com --- Sorry, are you saying the bug is definitely still present in 1.7.36? How many speakers do you have? Does the setting in winecfg match this? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Sorry, are you saying the bug is definitely still present in 1.7.36? Yes, it was the version in which I saw this bug originally
How many speakers do you have? Does the setting in winecfg match this? Two speakers, and in winecfg I have "Stereo".
