Backtrace indicates: Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x730c9a61 in 32-bit code (0x1e039205). Wine 1.4.1 you're using is very old, try with recent version to see if it still fails.
Thank you! (sorry for being clueless about current version) I re-installed Wine with version 1.6 via the ppa. The updated version starts up just fine!
