I've just checked on XP and it responds immediately. Sorry about the delay. I've got 3-4 bugs on the go, two of them have collided and I just went three steps backward. Sorry, but I'm a bit confused here. The link you give relates to configuration. If I open Legacy, then click Internet/Check for Update, I get a dialog box. On the box there is a button to click to do the check. Also there are two other links shown. If I click the button to check for updates, An hourglass cursor appears, but eventually it times out and the dialog box is still there. If I then click either of the two links - See What's New or Legacy website - then the cursor is a bouncing ball and the connection succeeds almost immediately. This, to me, doesn't look to be a configuration problem, but I'm open to be convinced. No change, I'm afraid. We'd already gone into this area (comment 5) so I was reasonably happy with /etc/hosts.
