If for some reason you delete the menu item from a tool like alacarte, you're not able to see those item never again. Step to reproduce : 1. Install an application which create a link in the application menu. e.g.: DVDFab6 2. Ensure the link is properly created. 3. Uninstall DVDFab6 4. The menu item is not remove by the uninstall opperation, so use 'alacarte' to remove the item. 5. Reinstall DVDFab6 6. Notice the menu item doesn't appear in the menu or in alacarte. I expect wine to create a link and manage to get it visible in the menu. You can't ask someone that are more or less familiar with the gnome internal to play with the application.menu.
