In wine 0.9.55 I got black screen with gdi (default) renderer and white with opengl one. Wine 0.9.56 Solved this partially, game now renders (with gdi and opengl), but screen is updated only when you click menu items. It seems there was problem with RealizePalette function. The game doesn't get far enough even to display the first menu. FreeBSD-7.0-p3 + wine-1.1.2 from ports.
