[Bug 12786] New: Framedrops in World of Warcraft
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12786 Summary: Framedrops in World of Warcraft Product: Wine Version: CVS/GIT Platform: Other OS/Version: other Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: opengl AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: natoforce(a)gmx.net I measure huge framedrops when turning around or move in the world, doesnt matter where. when i stand still i have good 80fps but if i turn around it instantly drops to 1-5 fps. im not sure if this has something to do with latest patch from blizzard or with a regression in wine. can someone please verify that? oh i almost forgot im using opengl since d3d is totally broken since 2.4 -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

i also want to add that the framedrop is only noticeable in the "new territories" -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I've measured a huge variance between 0.9.60 to 1.0rc1 myself, and it's really difficult to find an exact reason, but I suspect it has to do with changes to the threading. Under my present configuration (without any addons) I've managed to make the game freeze for about half a second simply by initiating combat (or worse, having combat initiated WITH my character). This may or may not be related, but I'll carry on with rc5 and see if I notice anything else. I've found this change affects me in any area, more so in 'new areas', but also in Azeroth. My system is an AMD64 X2 6000 with 2GB of RAM and my video card is an NVidia 9600 GT with 256MB of RAM. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
