I am running programs developed using Delphi5 and BDE 
using Wine20030618 and Wine-20030709 I get:

# wine c:\\Program\ Files\\Borland\\Delphi5\\Bin\\delphi32.exe 
gives similar errors, eventually causing a stack overflow. 
 
 
Wine-20030508 worked 
Other Windows apps seem ok. 
 
I built wine using gcc-3.3 on linx-2.4.21 and xfree86-4.3.99.7
