Many people including myself have inquired many times about a noticeable
performance difference with 2D games between Wine and Windows (Starcraft, Dark
Reign and presumably many others). A recent post confirmed 2D drawing in Wine
isn't optimal (sorry for the long link).

I am adding this quick note so that user questions are more directly answered by
this report. It'll also explain better why this issue is listed in a game appdb
entry.
