Under Tools/Options/Playback Devices you can select VMR9 as the Video Driver (FYI: DirectX is also listed there, but it isn't supported any more, and actually used VMR7 as well - the option is going away). This determines the driver used when running the editing page. If VMR7 or VMR9 is used, you get an error "Unable to initialise the video display", and the following is in the VideoRedo log: "2017-11-07 09:57:58 Using display driver: VMR9 2017-11-07 09:57:58 Error initializing video: Error, no VMR filters found., Overlay Flag: 0, Accel Flag: 1 2017-11-07 09:57:58 Unable to play video: Unable to initialize the video display." VMR7, VMR9 & EVR all fail to load. DirectX at least opens the file and is able to play it. Audio works, but it still displays a black screen where it should be playing the video.
